This could be my first thankful, but truthfully I don’t live in an earthquake area so my first thankful is, we are home- nowhere to go but to hang and relax…well almost relaxing.
Thankfuls two, three, and four:
Nick works on Saturdays – has for many years, but every six weeks he gets a weekend off; Fridays and Saturdays - so he was able to drop off the kids at religion and pick them up - came back with lunch.
We had, what I call, a typical Italian Saturday lunch this is what my mom would serve on any Saturday afternoon.
This is what we had, it was yummy, and filling, a late lunch means a lighter dinner:
Ciabatta bread, pepperoni, sweet cherry peppers, hot peppers stuffed with anchovy (my mom makes it), eggplant appetizer (mom makes that to), Mortadella - an Italian deli meat, homemade calzone, mozzarella, and olives.
Amelia has been wanting to Kool Aid dye her hair for the longest time, and I finally said okay; #Iamthecoolestmomever! Yes that is correct, Kool Aid, that is why we don’t drink it. This could last a few weeks. Number five she is very happy.
Number Six, Nick and I went to get information for a family member hopefully it will be a good decision and a smooth transition – more about that later, sorry to be vague.
Friday morning – Good-bye Mommy I love you have a great day - he makes me smile; my number seven.
Number eight - Dyanne, this is for you, I found that darn hat - I thought it was lost – Amelia found it!
It matches the shawl I crocheted - (I need to crochet more, really love it)
Miss Amelia finds everything - my number nine.
Last week I had a terrible cold, thanks to tea, grapefruits, oranges and my family taking care of me I’m feeling better – and I need to mention, it was nice to sit and enjoy a few episodes of House of Cards on Friday and Saturday night.
What are your thankfuls for the week?
