First day of March Came In Like A Lion - My Ten Things of Thankful

This could be my first thankful, but truthfully I don’t live in an earthquake area so my first thankful is, we are home- nowhere to go but to hang and relax…well almost relaxing.

Thankfuls two, three, and four:

Nick works on Saturdays – has for many years, but every six weeks he gets a weekend off; Fridays and Saturdays - so he was able to drop off the kids at religion and pick them up - came back with lunch.
We had, what I call, a typical Italian Saturday lunch this is what my mom would serve on any Saturday afternoon.

This is what we had, it was yummy, and filling, a late lunch means a lighter dinner:

Ciabatta bread, pepperoni, sweet cherry peppers, hot peppers stuffed with anchovy (my mom makes it), eggplant appetizer (mom makes that to), Mortadella - an Italian deli meat, homemade calzone, mozzarella, and olives.

Amelia has been wanting to Kool Aid dye her hair for the longest time, and I finally said okay; #Iamthecoolestmomever! Yes that is correct, Kool Aid, that is why we don’t drink it.  This could last a few weeks. Number five she is very happy.

Number Six, Nick and I went to get information for a family member hopefully it will be a good decision and a smooth transition – more about that later, sorry to be vague.

Friday morning – Good-bye Mommy I love you have a great day - he makes me smile; my number seven.

Number eight   - Dyanne, this is for you, I found that darn hat - I thought it was lost – Amelia found it!

It matches the shawl I crocheted - (I need to crochet more, really love it)

Miss Amelia finds everything - my number nine.

Last week I had a terrible cold, thanks to tea, grapefruits, oranges and my family taking care of me I’m feeling better – and I need to mention,  it was nice to sit and enjoy a few episodes of  House of Cards on Friday and Saturday night.

What are your thankfuls for the week?

  1. I let my daughter kook aid dye her hair a few summers ago. Our school's dress code says the kids can't have unnaturally colored hair, and the color was still in her hair 5 weeks after she did it. Thankfully, we thought of this and only did the bottom few inches. She had to wear her hair in a bun for the first couple of weeks of school. Amelia's looks great!

I wouldn't even know where to buy food like that your husband brought home. We in Indiana don't have true Italian places like you do in Long Island. :)

    Nice hat!

Glad to hear you're feeling better.

    1. She was beyond thrilled and really thinks that I'm extremely strict...(which I'm not) some of the food above are actually home- made like the eggplant and hot peppers but everything else at the supermarket in the deli section. Must have gotten a relapse this week but I toughed it out

  2. Kook aid dye wow!! I'm thinking if it dyes hair what is it dying inside our bodies?... It looks good on her ... She must love it...
    Have a great week!

    1. My sentiment exactly we never have it in the house to make drinks with it.... she loves it thanks you do the same.

  3. Oh your antipasto looks wonderful - I have fond memories of such spreads with my relatives and am thankful for a fantastic Italian market nearby. My sister and I spend far too much time and money there.
I love your hat and shawl!
Hope you continue to feel better! Happy March!

    1. it was delicious Italian markets are the best but can be pricey - worth it at times- see if the deli at the supermarket might have the same.

  4. That food looks awesome!
    Your daughters hair looks great!
    Great crochet!
    How have you been?
    Linda :o)

    1. Linda I am well the food was delicious and hit the spot... I do love to crochet and need some more ideas. right now I am working on a granny square shawl and trying to figure out a pattern to make the shawl. Thanks for stopping by.

Now its your turn, let it all out it feels good .....tell me how you feel! Love to hear from you, I love comments ...they are the best part!
