Ten Things of Thankful -Come Together

Imagine, no thankfuls – what I mean is; what if there was nothing to be thankful for – can you Imagine?

“It’s easy if you try"

Thankful # 1-everything “came together” when the Fab Four met; last week would have been John’s Lennon 74th birthday - Thank you Mr. Lennon for all your beautiful words -

“I am he as you are he as you are me; And we are all together”
I am the Walrus by John Lennon and credited to Lennon/McCarthy

Speaking of things coming together –

Thankful  # 2-Malala Yousafzai won the Nobel Peace Prize, this is something to be thankful, for all girls all over the world–without getting into  the politics-I hope that  all girls find it inspirational; especially for my daughter who needs to understand the importance of education on all levels.

Thankful # 3-Malala Yousafzai’s father, did you see his speech on Ted Talk–in his speech he tells his audience that often  he was asked, what did you teach your daughter  for her to become so strong and determined to learn.
His answer is “don’t ask me what I did for Malala, rather ask me what I didn't do for my daughter, and that is I did not clip her wings”

Thankful # 4-to the dad’s everywhere, who are proud of their daughters–who don’t clip their daughter’s wings as well, for placing them on a pedestal because they matter-for making them feel loved, significant and powerful - Nick you know I am talking about you-Thank you

Thankful # 5-to all the strong independent women before Malala - thank you for your work.

Thankful # 6–James, thank you for helping me every morning  getting everything done before we head out ;  and for helping with the shopping yesterday too.

Thankful # 7-I am thankful that I was able to feed my family last week – it is not that I can’t, but it should not be taken for granted and it should be a thankful always

Thankful # 8-I am thankful that I was able to post every day last week for Squaarekat and Mangia, Mangia…No Talk!  It’s a 30-day challenge October’s NaBloPoMo for Blogher, and I am half way through the month - YAY!

Thankful # 9-It’s really been a quiet time–maybe it’s because of Amelia, we are doing less–it’s nice for a change.

Thankful # 10-No major drama last week – speaking of less drama,  some of  Amelia’s friends have contacted her through email, texting, and face time – they have sent her get well wishes with her teachers in the form of cards, and  she is thrilled. I am thankful ! Yay!

What were your thankfuls for the week?

  1. No drama is good! I'm glad Amelia's still healing steadily. That's a relief.

YAY for the Beatles, and John Lennon and his huge contribution to music. I can't imagine (see what I did there?) how awful a world without gratitude would be.

    1. Amelia is doing well ; slowly but surely - - it's been quiet trying be low key so its been nice not running around on the weekends or during the week when I get home -

The Beatles - words and music forever in the days of a life - our lives

  2. Malala getting the Nobel Peace Prize is fantastic! What an inspiration she is! What a difference she has made already in her young life.

I'm glad Amelia's friends are reaching out to her. It would be very difficult to be cut off from your social circles like she has been. Social media can be a good thing!

    1. I am glad too for Amelia that is - these girls can be sassy and so dramatic - so I wasn't sure how it would go - but they have really made her feel good.

I think with Malala's win - and message - our daughters will do well or better than women before them - listen to me I sound like a IDKW...see I wish my kid knows how powerful women truly are - at least that is how I see it and I wish I knew that when I was 17 ....:)

      LOL At 17 ...

  3. I like your twist on the list this week. Imagine if we had nothing to be thankful for. I bet Lizzi would glitter bomb us into gratefulness!

  4. I can't imagine having nothing to be thankful for - there is always something! I love that Malala won the Nobel peace prize. My daughter wrote a paper about her last year. Even one generation ago, would we have imagined that a teenage girl would make such a huge impact on the world. I'm thankful that my daughter has role models like Malala.

  5. Yesterday was Thanksgiving in my native Canada, and although I am thankful for the health and safety and welfare of my family, I miss them so very much. It's at times like these, that I sometimes a little lost, like I'm living in the wrong place and need to be there.

Your ten things thankful today are precious, as always, and I am so very glad for you.

P.S.: So glad your little girl is doing better:))

  6. i think you'll see this.
    i hope you do.
i have been remiss in coming to square kat!
but this post was worth even a late visit.
    i love your thankful posts.
they usually bring tears and joy too.
your little family is what is right with the world! xoxo♥

Now its your turn, let it all out it feels good .....tell me how you feel! Love to hear from you, I love comments ...they are the best part!
